Pittsburgh Panthers Secure Eric Anderson Commitment

Pittsburgh Panthers have taken a significant step in strengthening their 2027 recruiting class with the commitment of Eric Anderson, a 6-5, 290-pound offensive tackle from Detroit Catholic Central. Anderson, who spent the weekend in Pittsburgh on an official visit, chose the Panthers over Boston College. He was impressed by the coaching staff, led by area recruiter Archie Collins, and the team's environment. Eric Anderson told Rivals that his visit checked all the boxes, citing the great coaching staff and the players' camaraderie. Pitt initially offered Anderson on March 24, and he visited in the spring, with Collins and Jeremy Darveau making in-person stops in late April. Anderson is the No. 112 offensive tackle in the cycle, per the Rivals Industry Ranking, and helped anchor an offensive line for a Shamrocks team that went 14-0 and won its first state title in 16 years. The Panthers now have five offensive linemen in the 2027 class, including Anderson, Carter Mathis, Colin Urrea, Ronald Moore, and Noah Nixon. And with this commitment, Pitt's 2027 class now boasts 24 commits, with three coming after the second official visit weekend. But what's notable is that Anderson's commitment addresses one of Pitt football's remaining needs in the 2027 recruiting class, which is at offensive tackle. So the Panthers are making progress in building a strong foundation for their future. Anderson's decision to commit to Pitt is a testament to the team's recruiting efforts, and his addition will undoubtedly strengthen the Panthers' offensive line. The team's coaching staff, including Collins and Darveau, played a significant role in Anderson's recruitment, and their efforts have paid off. As the Panthers continue to build their 2027 class, they will look to address other needs and add more talented players like Anderson.
